In days now gone and passed along
A wily sinner held my hand
He sung me lies and tought me wrong
And by his side I'd stay and stand

That man's now gone and passed along
No sane of mind would mourn his death
But memories will linger strong
And so I feel such emptiness

A killer and a coward be
Most others would describe his lot
And yet a hero I still see
Inside a heart I should let rot

They could all tell me otherwise
They could all tell me that I'm wrong
I'll mourn his passing every day
I'll always hear that midnight song
